Session 17: He Xian Gu invades the lab

Tony keeps up with Ceffer.

Ceffer takes look at the door, taps it a couple times then punches the door off its hinges.

Ember opens the suit lab and enters. She opens her com. "Uh, guys? Has anyone been in the suit lab today? I thought it was closed on the weekends." She turns on the lights and starts inspecting the ransacked helmet racks.

As Ember attempts to put one of the helmets away, it suddenly shrinks around her hand, and she defensively closes it to a fist. "Hey!" She shakes her fist around, as the shrinking helm has turned it into a wrecking ball; an amazingly fantastic fit, otherwise. After a minute of poking at the helmet, she finds that twisting it makes it revert to its original size. She grunts and puts the helmet back on the rack, taking special care not to put her hand into the insides of any others.

"You failed to notice that the door had been melded. You really need to start paying attention to your surroundings. Up ahead there are three supers, one of which is the same one we met in Alaska."
Ceffer replies shaking his hand back into shape.
"तुम्हें पता है कि मैं तुम्हारे लिए नीचे है कि दरवाजे को जला दिया जा सकता था।"
A voice comes from over his shoulder along with a source of heat.
"मैंने तुमसे कहा था कि मेरे साथ अपने बच्चे को छोड़ने के लिए एक बुरा विचार था। मैं तनाव का एक बहुत तहत कर रहा हूँ और अपने लोगों को मेरे लिए क्या किया है, क्योंकि मैं डर या एक सामान्य व्यक्ति की तरह तनाव को संसाधित नहीं कर सकते हैं। मुझे बुरा रसायन से छुटकारा पाने के लिए व्यायाम की जरूरत है। मैं भी समय के लिए अपने बच्चे के साथ बिताने के लिए नहीं था।"

"Okay whats the plan then?" Smith Asks keeping pace with Ceffer

"Tony is going to help Ember get the equipment. You and I going to scout ahead."
Ceffer replies still running.

Ember finds a suitable poncho meant for a lava elemental, as well as two force pendants. She gives them all to Tony when he arrives.

Ceffer cloaks and puts on his skates.
"Lets avoid being seen."

Ember follows Ceffer closely, softly grumbling about what she's going to do to Olli when she finds him.

Ember points her first two fingers at a corner of the weld, and a furiously bright light appears at their tips. She is about to touch the door, but pauses and looks at Ceffer in Ceffer's direction. "Unless you'd rather break your hand again."

Ceffer starts in surprise.
"You noticed!? Do you have any experience in dealing with traps or explosive?"
Ceffer asks curiously. He then taps on the door. Relying on Alishari to show him what is on the other side of the door.
"Well there don't seem to be any. Go ahead."

Ember lights her other set of fingers and, in about ten seconds, has cut out the door. "Traps? No. Explosives? Not exactly. But the buildings I fought fires in were usually industrial. Oil refineries, power way-stations, PG&E, stuff like that." Ember tells him softly, so that her voice isn't carrying far.

"What do you mean, 'Not exactly,' for your experience with explosives?"

Tony notices the weld sealing off the digitization room.

"REALLY?"

Ember pauses to examine the welded door. "Well, they weren't meant to be explosives; I mean, no one ever meant for them to explode. Hmm..." She gestures for everyone to take a closer look. "Is it just me, or does this look more like finger smudge marks than proper welding?"

Tony takes a quick look, then shrugs. "What exactly were they?"

"The explosives? I don't know. Tanks of stuff you'd find in oil refineries and power plants. One time it exploded right next to me and nearly killed me, but I lit my self on fire and freaked out my rescue partner. That was the first time I spontaneously combusted my entire body, I believe. I survived; and my crew was so stunned that they made me take point from there on after."

"What she means, is firefighter is trained for possible bomb threats and dealing with a raging infernal is similar to an explosion. The only difference is reaction time. Her fire bending has helped her with that. That is why I asked for fire powers to be present so that they can contain any blast. The problem is when are there more creative traps that do not rely on explosives. If you studied up on things you might be be able to figure these things out on yourself. You live in one of the most advanced facilities in the world, have a access to the latest research, are privately wealthy, and use high tech artifact to play games and get super powers! Why is it that you rush ahead and don't listen? Have you considered that your father put you on this team to have learn more? Sorry for lashing out but you have nearly gotten us killed twice now. You can be clever when you think about it but sometimes you don't think  ahead."
Ceffer lectures with exposition Tony privately over the comm. He then takes a closer look at the doors.
"Yes... I find it disturbing that it is a different finger size than the vampire. It looks like her technique though."
Ceffer comments on General chat.

Ember tries to put her thumb and fingers in the prints. The finger prints are slightly, but significantly smaller than hers. "Whoever this was, he wouldn't make a very good thief. If we printed everyone who came to Wells Hills, we'd have him identified by now. You said there were three of them?" She gestures for Ceffer to check the door for traps.

Tony just stands there, processing what Ceffer just said.

"Three Supers, unknown normals, robots, or ETs."
Ceffer confirms.
"Nothing has entered Alishari's field. Proceed with caution."

Ember opens the door as before. "If Ollie is among them, he could very well have dared a couple of his friends to help him break in. Come to think of it, that would explain the super suit lab."

"That could be a possibility. They could have also been kidnapped by some psycho or terrorist, Or their bodies could be hijacked by some form of technology. So like I said keep your guard up but don't overreact."
Hypothesizes Ceffer darkly.
