Session 14&15: Let's Not Do the Time warp again.

We finished eradicating a hive of mind worms from a peaceful Georgian town, when it was the same day again. Using various resources, we determined the center of the effect and tracked it back to one person. After tracking down this person, we discovered that she was trying to save her boyfriend in China but she did not have a passport. So we decided to try to help her rescue her boyfriend, as it was easier than trying to convince her to stop and having her panic.

So the day restarted one more time. We teleported to China only to wait a while for her boyfriend, who was busy taking classes. Pearl detected a lingering vampire smell in the apartment. Tony and the girlfriend cleaned the apartment while the rest of us played cards while waiting for the boyfriend to get back.

When the boyfriend returned, most of the party discovered he had been cheating with one of the locals. Before we got settled again, The Vampire arrived. She phased through the door and started identifying all the powers in the room. Smith immediately started to question her when asked she Identified herself as He Xian Gu. Pearl charged the vampire as a lioness and knocked her down. Ember tried to electrocute and incinerate the vampire with little effect. While Smith used his teleport to great effect hampering vampire's ability to attack and evacuating the Non combatants. Deceptively quickly, the vampire wanders the room, amused at the the nearly total lack of fear from us. Finally, she decided to actually kill one of instead of playing with her food and attacked Ceffer. Ceffer summoned Tik'Inerda for protection. The Vampire recognized it and decided to leave. She chose Ember as her next potential target. Ember filled the room with fire before being whisked away. The Vampire sucked up all the flames. About the time she decided to leave us, Tony activated the Mobile Digitization Device and banished her into a pocket dimension. After the fight, the boyfriend informed us we had just imprisoned his landlord.

Pearl rubs her throat as Smith, Ceffer, and Tony come to the room where all the 'non-combatants' were teleported to. "If I ever get the hankering for field work again, please shoot me."

Ember chuckles and her finger tips briefly energize with electricity. "That can be arranged."

Pearl rolls her eyes and shoes her hand away.

"Philip Donaho I suggest that you leave this country as quickly as possible. If we are lucky we just killed one of the Eight Immortals. If not we will have a very pissed off Elder Vampire after us. And if we are very unlucky we will have all eight of them after us. Sorry I was not much help but Alishari was screaming at me to get out of there. Apparently, They have a history with the each other. Now lets get out of here before we make the news any more than we have. Sorry for the holes in your apartment."
Ceffer Orders. He has removed his helmet and is slightly pale.
Pearl notices that his Body temperature is closer to normal.

"Where is Alishari?" Pearl asks.

"Probably out getting a snack." Ember pulls a handful of corn kernels out of her super suit pocket. As she picks one up, it pops in her fingers and she eats it. "Anybody want one?"

"Overwatch. Meeting. Later. We need to leave now!!! Mr. Donaho grab your things and run for the US Embassy and get out of the country. Call this number when you get back to the states."
Ceffer hands a Wells hills business card to Philip.
"It is now 4 am. and I need sleep."

"Can't we take him with us?" Pearl stands up.

"That leads to more complications. We really do not want any of this mess getting on us. We saved him now we need to get out without leaving a huge trail leading back to us. He should be same enough assuming that he gets going now!"
Ceffer irately responds.
"Whats going on?"
Philip asks.

Tony double checks the digitization machine. "Ceffer, take a look at this. The buffer is empty. She isn't in there."

Though slightly disappointed that no one asked about her popcorn proof pocket, Ember recognized the urgency of what Tony said. "You put her in the digitization machine? Where could she gone but the hard drive or the processor? Don't tell me she emailed herself out."

"Gleep"
Ceffer and Alshari say at the same time.
"Mr. Donaho your Landlady is one of the oldest vampires in existence now run! Everyone else we are leaving. Ms. Lesleigh your boyfriend is safe assuming that he gets going now. I doubt that she will put the effort into tracking him down. But I really do not want to stick around to find out what she will do to us!"
There is an urgency in Ceffer's voice that no one has heard before.

"We were afraid of that. Like  your father was told what you have is a dimension portal not a dematerializing device."
Ceffer replies.
"We need a debriefing.  Ms. Lesleigh should be part of it along with your dad. I also need to talk to Pearl."

Pearl is in her office. Ember is at the Dojo.

Ceffer and Tony gathers everyone gathers for the debriefing.

Being early December in Wells Hills, the grass and fallen leaves are still covered with the remnants of this morning's frost. However, as Tony approaches the Dojo, which was Ember's last reported location, he notices an increase in ambient temperature and that the grass is dry.

A dozen firebenders are in the outdoor practice area, fondly known as the slab. About half of them are sitting down, while the other half appear to be dueling. But on closer inspection, it looks more like six against one. Most of those on the side appear to be tired and sweating.

Ember is attacking the others with all sorts of fire, some of which is quite cinematic. Everyone is embellishing their blasts, blocks, and snuffs with showy judo moves. Shortly after Tony arrives, Ember notices him and nods. A few of her attackers take advantage of her momentary distraction to blast her, but she dispells them and sets herself alight; only, it's not like any other time she's lit herself before.

In an explosion of heat and color, a twenty-four foot sphere centered on Ember engulfs the firebending slab. Tony has to cover his face for the heat, but he is unharmed. The sphere is an orb, glowing white, gold, and blue from the inside out. Though it only lasts a second, the other firebenders stand down instantly. Three of them go down to the river (where there are more) and the rest congregate around a couple of large water coolers.

Ember strides up to Tony. Her hair is up and she is wearing the fireproof uniform. A small aura cool air envelops him when they are within talking distance. Ember is sweating and breathing hard, but not panting like her sparring partners. "What?" she asks him flatly.

"My phone is in my locker." Ember turns and heads into the Dojo.

Before the Meeting Ceffer manages to grab Dr. Wells. He asked what exactly he wants to be disclosed in this meeting. He also ask if Dr. Wells okay with explaining exactly what specifics of his power to the rest of them given the time crunch. Then quickly builds a  Power Point with the various threats and things with Dr. Wells And Alishari's input.

In the briefing room, things look a little tense. Smith and Pearl are by the water cooler while Ember is alone at the table, making what looks like a small glass mace head.

"Before I start I would like to get each of your takes on what happened. I have several notes lots of bad news. So we will start this meeting off right. Starting with you Ms. Lesleigh."
Ceffer stands at the front of the room smartly dressed in his military uniform. There are no metals on his uniform other than his former rank and name.
"Um, wait where is the other guy? You know the who was standing in the corner doing nothing while being grouchy."
Gertrude Lesleigh asks confused.
"That was me. Now could start from the first day that you turned back time."
Ceffer clarifies while his glasses make his eyes unreadable.
Gertrude clears her voice and looks about nervously.
"It started as a Normal enough day I message my boyfriend before I went to bed. Later the next day I got message that my boyfriend was dead. I knew that if I was close enough I could have healed him. So I decided to heal the world. I guess I should start at the beginning. My power allows me to manipulate the gross entropic field of an object either speeding it up or completely reversing it. When I was a kid I discovered that if I focused I could put things back together that had been broken. Anyway I started looking for ways to warn him about what was going to happen but I could not reach him. So when I go the news that he had died I tried again. It made feel sick but you know. This loop I lost track of time and let it slip half an hour. I also discovered that I could not make up for lost time. I kept trying to get to china to warn him because no one took me seriously when I tried to warn them that someone was trying to kill my boyfriend."
She is crying as she recites this.

Pearl finally sits down, next to Gertrude, and puts an arm around her. "Just because you can change what's going to happen doesn't mean you have to carry the weight of the world. We're your friends now, we're going to help you through this."

Tony almost says something, but decides to preserve the girl's feelings until she can buffer the news that, There are those who would have her livelihood for messing with the date. Ceremonial religions will have a fit, as will corporate executives.
