Session 17: He Xian Gu invades the lab

While Smith and Ceffer finish talking to the Vampire, Ember and Tony check out the loud banging going on all through the lab.

Tony is still frustrated with the vampire invading the lab.

"You don't suppose she is responsible for this banging, do you?"

"I'm about ready to do some banging myself if you don't stop trying to attack her." Ember looks around to get her barrings. "Oh, we're on the top floor; I thought we were only on level two."

Ember idly pulls out a ring and puts it on her left hand. She stands still, listening for anything out of the ordinary.

"Hmm..." Ember heads downstairs, beckoning for Tony to follow. "I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, I and a couple friends used to try and sneak into the steam tunnels below campus. Kept getting caught before getting in, but with all the fuss today you don't suppose someone got down there undetected?"

Ember answers with her HUD. "Hello? Mom?"

Ember grumbles softly to herself. "No, Mom. I've been working in the Lab and fighting vampires all evening. But I'll look for him as soon as I'm done with this one thing, ok? And when I find him, I'm not going to call him 'Little O'. He hates that nickname, you know. That's probably why he's breaking curfew in the first place. Got to go; love ya; bye." Ember hangs up before her mother has a chance to respond. "How long do you think this is going to take? I've got a foster brother to track down when we're done." She waits for Tony to take the lead again and show them where the old heating plant is.

"He Xian Gu has left."
Ceffer sighs of the intercom. Making a general announcement.
"Now can someone please appraise me about the loud explosion I keep hearing. Please tell me that we are not being invaded again!"

"Crap... May I suggest that we evacuate all non-essential personal to a safe distance of 1 mile? Those with fire, water, defensive powers, and technical experts prepare to deal with a potential steam explosion?
Ceffer suggest to Dr. Wells.
*sign* "Is the Sound coming from the The steam tunnels or inside the Pipe? It really does not matter. Can someone get me a waterproof firefighter jacket?"
Ceffer makes his way to the Steam tunnels.

"All firefighter jackets are water proof on the outside." Ember gives Ceffer a strange look as he approaches. "The only one I know of in Wells Hills is tailored to fit me, but you'll probably find a few close seconds in the super suit lab. We can all go there together if your faith in these suits has fallen so suddenly." Ember makes a brief gesture to the super suits they are all wearing; flexible yet armored, adaptable yet durable.

Dr. Wells tries to say something, but Tony beats him to it.

"Ceffer, what do you think is going on?"

"These suits are not rated for fires! I just need something that gives me an edge against a steam explosion."
Ceffer retorts.
"As to what I think is going on, I have three ideas: One someone is just banging on the steam the pipes. Two Someone Banging on the pipes unleashed a child from its crib. Three someone is trying to blow up Wells Hills using the steam tunnels to create an explosion."

Ember raises her right hand; it is burning white to her elbow. She mockingly inspects both sides as Ceffer finishes his list. "Wait, a child?"

"RIght... ummm There may be a few things that I have forgotten to mentioned. Anyway if anyone encounters wandering ball of steam please tell me."
Ceffer starts running while drawing on his hand.

Ember proceeds down stairs to the super suit lab.

Ceffer approaches the source of the whistling. arriving at a closed door.
